Emily Elizabeth Thompson, 36, of Kittanning, Pennsylvania, formerly of Freeport, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1990, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and was the only child of Mark D. and Elizabeth (Costantino) Thompson.

Emily’s passing has left her husband, parents, extended family and many friends mourning the loss of a woman remembered for her warmth, humor, kindness and love of the outdoors.

Remembering Emily Thompson

Emily graduated from Freeport High School in 2009, where she participated in track and played goalkeeper for the girls’ soccer team. She later graduated from Edinboro University in 2013 with a degree in Psychology and an emphasis in Neuroscience, before earning a master’s degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Emily and her husband, Jeremy E. Boltin, spent six years living in Colorado, where they developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors. The couple enjoyed camping, practicing yoga, running half marathons and climbing many of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks.

She also enjoyed crafting and cherished her dogs, Wilson, Popcorn and especially Jackson.

Her parents remembered Emily as someone who could light up a room, while her husband described her as the kindest person he had ever met. Friends remembered her for her humor and the happiness she brought to those around her.

Emily married Jeremy E. Boltin on October 26, 2022, in Bailey, Colorado. She is survived by her parents, Mark and Elizabeth Thompson of Freeport, and her husband, Jeremy.

She is also survived by her in-laws, six sisters-in-law, aunts, cousins and numerous friends.

Emily was preceded in death by her cousin, Jerry Broderick, as well as her paternal grandparents, Shirley and Charles D. Thompson Jr., and maternal grandparents, John S. and Clare Costantino.

Emily Thompson Funeral Arrangements

Friends and family will be received on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Dennis J. Daugherty Funeral Home, 324 Fourth St., Freeport, Pennsylvania.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at St. Mary Mother of God Parish, 608 High St., Freeport. A private interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

In Emily’s memory, the family has requested that contributions be made to Freeport PA Pride.

Emily Thompson leaves behind memories of a life marked by family, friendship, education, adventure and a love of the outdoors. Her kindness, humor and vibrant presence will continue to be remembered by the people who knew and loved her.
